5. Johnny Cash connection: Country music legend Johnny Cash was born in nearby Kingsland, Arkansas, but spent much of his childhood in Dyess, Arkansas, just across the state line from Dyer County. Cash often performed in Dyer County during his early career.

6. Casey Jones Railroad Museum: The Casey Jones Railroad Museum is located in the city of Jackson, just south of Dyer County.
