April 13-17 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota. Two statewide drills are scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026; one is at 1:45 p.m. and the other is at 6:45 p.m. Bike to Work Week returns to Anoka County May 11-15, 2026—a simple, energizing, and fun way to try a new commute to work.

Anoka County will host its annual Law Day event from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at the Anoka County Government Center and Courthouse. Free legal advice will be available in multiple areas. Anoka County has two compost sites that accept grass, leaves, non-woody yard waste, tree waste, and organics (food scraps).
