The Peabody Institute Library, established in 1852 by philanthropist George Peabody, serves the city of Peabody, Massachusetts. The main library, located at 82 Main Street, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is recognized as the oldest public library in the United States to operate continuously from the same location. The library offers a variety of programs and services, including access to a collection of over 150,000 volumes, online resources, and community events. It operates three branches: the Main Library, South Branch at 78 Lynn Street, and West Branch at 603 Lowell Street. The Main Library's operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm, Friday from 9 am to 1 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm.
