Carrie Fisher was an American actress, writer, and mental health advocate born on October 21, 1956, in Beverly Hills, California. She was best known for her iconic role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars film series. Fisher was also a talented screenwriter and author, publishing several books including the semi-autobiographical novel Postcards from the Edge.
