1. The Arkansas Equal Suffrage Amendment was ratified on April 19, 1917, making Arkansas the twelfth state to grant women the right to vote.

2. On April 19, 1995, the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed by Timothy McVeigh, a former soldier who had ties to Arkansas. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 168 people, including 19 children.
