1. In 1912, the city of Bentonville, Arkansas was incorporated. Today, it is home to the Walmart Home Office and Museum.

3. In 1932, the Arkansas State Fair began its annual tradition of showcasing agriculture, livestock, and other industries in the state.

4. On August 3, 1943, the Arkansas State Sanatorium in Booneville was converted into a Naval Convalescent Hospital during World War II.

5. The famous "Battle of Pea Ridge" was fought in March 1862, but on August 3 of that year, Confederate General Sterling Price surrendered in Little Rock, effectively ending any Confederate presence in the state.
