1. On December 2, 1767, the first Presbyterian Church in Delaware was organized in Wilmington. The church still stands today and is known as the First and Central Presbyterian Church.

2. In 1804, Delaware became the first state to prohibit dueling after a fatal altercation between two prominent politicians. The law remains in effect today.

3. On December 2, 1834, the Wilmington and Susquehanna Railroad was chartered. The railroad would eventually become part of the Pennsylvania Railroad system and played a significant role in the development of the state's transportation infrastructure.

4. In 1933, Delaware ratified the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which repealed Prohibition. The state was the sixth to ratify the amendment.

5. On December 2, 2006, Delaware native Elena Delle Donne scored 50 points in a high school basketball game, setting a state record. Delle Donne went on to play college basketball at the University of Delaware and was the WNBA's Most Valuable Player in 2015.
