3. On February 10, 1996, Bob Marley was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Although Marley was not from Texas, his music has had a considerable impact on the state's vibrant music culture.

4. The first public university in Texas, the University of Texas at Austin, was established on February 10, 1883. Today, UT Austin is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the country.

5. In 1944, the United States Army established the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The center has been responsible for some of the most significant space exploration missions, including the Apollo Moon mission and the Space Shuttle program.
