1) On February 20, 1872, a historic train robbery took place in Canyon City, Colorado. The robbers, members of the infamous James-Younger gang, stole approximately $7,000 from the Denver and Rio Grande Western Express. They were eventually captured and brought to trial.

2) February 20, 1931, marked the opening of the first ski resort in Colorado, Winter Park Ski Resort. The resort has since grown to become one of the largest ski areas in the state, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

3) In 1960, on February 20, the United States deployed its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from Colorado's Warren Air Force Base. The missile, known as the Atlas E, was a key part of the U.S. nuclear arsenal during the Cold War.

4) On February 20, 1973, a major snowstorm hit Colorado, dropping up to 30 inches of snow in some areas. The storm caused widespread power outages, traffic accidents, and school closures, but also provided a welcome boost to the state's ski industry.

5) February 20, 2018, was a historic day in Colorado, as Governor John Hickenlooper signed into law a bill legalizing the recreational use of marijuana. Colorado was the first state in the nation to do so, paving the way for other states to follow suit.
