1. Louisiana's first ever governor, William C.C. Claiborne, was inaugurated on January 22, 1812. He was appointed by President James Madison and served as governor for eight terms, from 1812 to 1816 and again from 1816 to 1824.

5. Louisiana's Cajun culture was on full display on January 22, 1993, when a group of Cajun musicians led by fiddler Michael Doucet performed at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton. The group, known as BeauSoleil, played a mix of traditional Cajun tunes and original compositions, showcasing the vibrant music and culture of Louisiana.
