4. In 1990, Mike Huckabee was sworn in as Arkansas Governor. He served as governor for a total of 11 years, from 1996 to 2007.
5. In 2013, the Little Rock Nine were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of their courageous efforts to desegregate Central High School in Little Rock in 1957. The Little Rock Nine were a group of African American students who were the first to attend Central High School after the Supreme Court's landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision.
