1. The Battle of the Rosebud occurred on July 13, 1876, in southeastern Montana. General George Crook and his troops clashed with a group of Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne warriors, led by Crazy Horse. The battle was a significant precursor to the Battle of Little Bighorn, which occurred only a few weeks later.
