3. In 1922, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was established to improve traffic safety and enforce laws on state highways. Today, the agency employs over 1,600 troopers and continues to serve as a law enforcement leader in Ohio.

4. On this day in 1944, a B-24 bomber crashed into Lake Erie during a training exercise. Despite the efforts of rescue crews, all 10 crew members perished in the crash. The wreckage was not located until 1987.

5. In 1996, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland celebrated its one millionth visitor, marking a milestone for the popular attraction that honors the history and impact of rock music. Today, the museum remains one of Ohio's top tourist destinations.
