1. On June 25, 1673, the town of Marlborough, Massachusetts was incorporated. Originally part of the town of Sudbury, Marlborough became a thriving center of industry in the 19th century, with factories producing shoes, textiles, and other goods.

2. In 1775, British troops under the command of General Thomas Gage marched on Charlestown and Cambridge, Massachusetts, in an attempt to seize colonial munitions and quell the rising rebellion. The siege would eventually lead to the Battle of Bunker Hill and other notable events in the American Revolution.

3. On June 25, 1857, the Massachusetts State House was completed after four years of construction. The iconic building, designed by noted Boston architect Charles Bulfinch, is home to the state legislature and other government offices.

4. In 1910, the first flight from Boston to New York was completed by pilot Charles K. Hamilton. The flight, which took just over four hours, marked a major milestone in early aviation history.

5. On June 25, 1978, the Boston Celtics selected future Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird in the NBA draft. Bird would go on to lead the team to three championships in the 1980s and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
