2. In 1875, the Texas Legislature officially created the Texas Rangers as a law enforcement agency. They were initially formed to protect settlers from Native American raids.

3. In 1922, The University of Texas at Austin dedicated the original building for the College of Business Administration, now known as the McCombs School of Business.

4. In 1934, Bonnie and Clyde committed their first robbery in Texas, stealing over $700 from a gas station in Denton. They went on to become infamous outlaws and were eventually killed in a police ambush.

5. In 2005, Texas passed the controversial "Castle Doctrine" law, granting legal immunity to individuals who use deadly force in self-defense while in their own homes or vehicles. It was seen as a victory for gun rights advocates, but critics argued it could lead to an increase in unnecessary violence.
