3. On November 10, 1928, the Hoover Dam, which spans the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada, was officially dedicated. The dam, which was built during the Great Depression, provides hydroelectric power to over 1.3 million people in the Southwest.

4. In 1996, voters in Arizona passed Proposition 200, which required proof of citizenship to register to vote and proof of identity to vote. This controversial law was challenged in court and eventually upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2013.

5. On November 10, 2018, Arizona Senator John McCain was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump. McCain, who died from brain cancer in August of 2018, was a war hero and a political maverick who served in the U.S. Senate for over 30 years.
