1. In 1888, Cheyenne’s first electric streetlight was installed. This was a milestone in the historic city's transition to modernity.

2. In 1914, the Office of Public Roads in the Wyoming State Highway Department was established. This office later became the Wyoming Department of Transportation and played a critical role in the development of the state’s highway system.

3. In 1916, the Wyoming Tuition Fund Investment Committee was created to provide scholarships for Wyoming students to attend the University of Wyoming. This committee is still in operation today and has helped many students further their education and achieve their career goals.

4. In 1922, the Wyoming Stock Growers Association held its first annual convention in Cheyenne. This event brought together cattle and sheep ranchers from across the state and helped to promote Wyoming’s thriving livestock industry.

5. In 1953, the first Wyoming Homecoming Celebration was held in Laramie. This event has since become an annual tradition for the University of Wyoming and includes a variety of activities for alumni and current students, as well as the local community.
