1. On November 19, 1863, the Gettysburg Address was delivered by President Abraham Lincoln during the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Although this event did not occur in Ohio, it had significant impact on the country as a whole, including Ohio and its soldiers who fought in the Civil War.

2. In 1881, Ohio State University (then known as Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College) played its first intercollegiate football game on November 19 against the Ohio Wesleyan University. Ohio State lost the game 20-14.

3. On November 19, 1910, the city of Dayton, Ohio, experienced a devastating flood due to heavy rainfall. The flood led to the deaths of over 300 people, destroyed more than 20,000 homes, and caused over $100 million in damage (equivalent to over $2.5 billion today).

4. Ohio native and astronaut Judith Resnick was born on November 19, 1949. Resnick made history when she became the second American woman in space in 1984, serving as a mission specialist on the Space Shuttle Discovery. Tragically, she was one of the seven crew members who died in the 1986 Challenger disaster.

5. On November 19, 1990, the Cincinnati Reds' first baseman and future Hall of Famer, Hal Morris, won the National League Rookie of the Year Award. Morris played for the Reds from 1990 to 1997, winning a World Series with the team in 1990.
