1. The Town of Gilbert was incorporated on November 2, 1920. At the time, it had a population of just 50 people. Today, Gilbert is one of the fastest-growing towns in America and has a population of over 260,000.

2. The Arizona State Capitol building was dedicated on November 2, 1900. The building served as the territorial capitol until Arizona became a state in 1912. Today, the Capitol building houses the offices of the Governor, Secretary of State, and other elected officials.

3. On November 2, 1917, the first airplane mail to be carried in Arizona was flown from Phoenix to Tucson. The pilot was Lieutenant Paul Richter, and the flight took just over an hour. Today, Arizona is still a major hub for air mail and cargo transportation.

4. November 2, 1964, was the day that the film "Billy the Kid versus Dracula" was released. The movie was shot in Arizona and starred John Carradine as the infamous vampire. Despite its low budget and campy premise, the film has since gained a cult following.

5. The Phoenix Suns played their first-ever regular-season game on November 2, 1968. The team beat the Seattle SuperSonics 116-107 in front of a crowd of over 7,000 fans at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Today, the Suns are one of the most popular and successful teams in the NBA.
