1. In 1864, Nevada became the 36th state in the United States of America on November 26. This day is celebrated every year as Nevada Day.

2. In 1929, the first indoor building designed entirely for gambling, the Pair-O-Dice Club, opened on November 26. It later became the famous casino, the Frontier.

3. In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a bill granting Nevada a federal reservation on November 26. It was named the Nevada Test Site and would later become the site of more than 800 nuclear tests until it was closed in 1992.

4. In 1971, the famous Las Vegas Strip casino, the Stardust, opened on November 26. It was the largest hotel in the world at the time of its construction and operated until it was closed and demolished in 2006.

5. In 2014, the city of Reno hosted its first-ever "Santa Crawl" on November 26, where participants dress up as Santa and go from bar to bar in downtown Reno. Thousands of people now take part in the annual event each year.
