3. In 1953, President Dwight D. Eisenhower visited Arkansas as part of his "whistle-stop" tour of the country. He made several stops throughout the state, giving speeches and meeting with local officials and residents.

4. On October 14, 1984, the Arkansas Razorbacks football team defeated the Texas Longhorns in a closely contested game. This victory helped propel the Razorbacks to a 9-2-1 record and a trip to the Cotton Bowl.
