3. In 1928, Utah's first commercial airline, Utah Airways, was founded. The airline operated until the late 1930s and offered flights throughout the Intermountain West.
4. In 1984, the Salt Lake City Transit Authority implemented the first light rail system in the state, known as the TRAX. The system now covers 44 miles and has drastically improved public transit options for Utah residents.
5. In 2010, a 20,000 square foot exhibit known as the Natural History Museum of Utah, opened in Salt Lake City. The exhibit includes a collection of over 1.2 million natural specimens and is considered to be one of the most impressive natural history museums in the country.
