1. First Las Vegas Wedding - October 3, 1946 marks the day when the first wedding took place in Las Vegas at the Little Church of the West. The bride was Beverly Ann Sills and the groom was George Frederick Holden.

2. Nevada Statehood - Nevada became the 36th state of the United States on October 3, 1864. It was the first state to be admitted after the Civil War.
