3. In 1954, the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art opened to the public in its current location on Benefit Street in Providence. The museum features an extensive collection of art and design objects spanning thousands of years, from ancient artifacts to contemporary art.

4. On May 26, 1965, the Rhode Island General Assembly passed legislation to create the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA). RIPTA is responsible for providing public transportation services throughout the state, including bus and trolley routes, paratransit services, and commuter rail connections.

5. In 2016, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management opened a new fishing pier at Colt State Park in Bristol. The pier provides an accessible fishing spot for anglers of all abilities, as well as stunning views of Narragansett Bay and the surrounding scenery.
