1. Kentucky's first law school was established on November 14, 1799, in Lexington, Kentucky. The Transylvania Law School was founded by former United States Attorney General James Brown, and it was the first law school west of the Allegheny Mountains.

2. On November 14, 1861, Confederate forces under General William Nelson captured the city of Bowling Green, Kentucky. The capture of Bowling Green was a significant victory for the Confederacy, as it gave them control of a major transportation hub and a key supply depot.

3. On November 14, 1922, the Lincoln Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C. The memorial was designed by Kentucky-born architect Henry Bacon, and it features a statue of Abraham Lincoln by sculptor Daniel Chester French.

4. On November 14, 1980, a fire broke out at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky, killing 165 people and injuring more than 200 others. The Beverly Hills Supper Club was a popular entertainment venue in the Greater Cincinnati area, and the fire remains one of the deadliest nightclub fires in U.S. history.

5. On November 14, 2018, Kentucky celebrated its 226th anniversary of statehood. The Commonwealth of Kentucky was admitted to the Union on June 1, 1792, becoming the 15th state to enter the United States. Today, Kentucky is known for its bourbon, horse racing, and renowned colleges and universities.
