1. Buffalo Bill Cody was born on November 22, 1846, in LeClaire, Iowa. Although he was not born in Wyoming, he is closely associated with the state as he spent much of his life there and is buried there.

2. On November 22, 1890, the infamous Battle of Wounded Knee took place in South Dakota, just a few miles north of the Wyoming border. The incident marked the end of the Indian Wars and resulted in the death of over 150 native people, including women and children.
