2. On November 23, 1910, the Florida Capitol building was dedicated in Tallahassee. The building, which still serves as the state capitol today, cost $1.3 million to construct and features a 22-story tower.

3. In 1925, the University of Florida Gators football team played their first game at Florida Field, which later became known as Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The team defeated the University of Alabama with a score of 16-6.

4. The Miami Dolphins football team played their first Thanksgiving Day game on November 23, 1995. They faced the Dallas Cowboys in Texas and lost 16-14.

5. In 2014, Florida State University quarterback Jameis Winston set a new ACC record for career touchdown passes during a game against the University of Florida. He threw for four touchdowns, bringing his career total to 64.
